Gorge Recreation

The central focus for recreation in the gorge is the Columbia River and its tributaries. Opportunities for water sports and recreational activities abound. There are many places along the rivers for a nice swim, to fish, go boating, watersking, windsurfing or wading around. In addition to to water based activities the gorge has many places to hike, go horseback riding, camping, hunting and rock collecting.

A long time advocate of civic improvement in Goldendale and Klickitat County, Alice was a founding member of Recreation for Everyone Concerned, a community service non profit in Klickitat County in the 70s and 80s.
She also served on the governor's commission for the handicapped.
